Termite control
Termite control starts with an inspection
We inspect where the activity is, the damage we can see and how termites may be getting in before recommending control or protection work.
- Inspection before control
- Areas we can safely reach checked
- Options explained before work
What to expect
What we check before talking about control
Where the termites are, what we can reach and how the building is constructed all help decide the control or protection plan.
Activity and damage
We check the area you are worried about and look for other signs of termite activity or damage.
Access and limitations
We check the rooms, roof or subfloor entry points and outside walls we can reach.
Construction and site conditions
Moisture, drainage, ventilation, timber touching the building and the way the property is built can all affect the plan.
What we found and what can be done
We explain what we found and which control, monitoring or protection work suits the activity, building and access.
The process
How we work out the control plan
We inspect first. If control work is needed, we explain it before you book it.
-
01
Tell us what you found
We start with what you have seen, where it is and any access details.
-
02
Inspect inside and outside
We check for activity, damage, entry points and conditions around the building.
-
03
Explain what we found
We tell you what we found, what we could not reach and what that means.
-
04
Choose the work
We talk through the control, monitoring or protection options and what each one involves.
What we look at
What we learn from the inspection
We look at where termites are active, what we can reach and what may be helping them get into the building.
- Where we found activity or damage
- Areas we could and could not inspect
- Anything that needs moving so we can inspect it
- Which treatment or monitoring work suits the activity, building and access
Common questions
Termite control questions
We inspect first, then explain the control, monitoring or protection options for the property.
What is the difference between an inspection and termite control?
An inspection checks what is happening and where. Termite control is the treatment, monitoring or protection work chosen afterwards.
Is there one control method for every property?
No. We choose the method after checking where the termites are, how the building is constructed, which areas can be reached and the conditions around it.
Does an inspection automatically include treatment?
No. The inspection checks what is happening. If treatment is needed, we explain and quote that work separately.
What if some areas cannot be accessed?
We explain which areas we could not reach and how that limits what we can check.
Can I book online?
Yes. Use the Book Online action, or call 0400 822 800 if you want to discuss what you have found first.
Worried about termites?
Start with a termite inspection
Book an inspection or call about what you found. If control work is needed, we explain it before you book it.
